Bind up the testimony . . .

The Lord spoke to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people. He said:

Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.

The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread, and he will be a sanctuary; . . .

Bind up the testimony and seal up the law among my disciples. I will wait for the Lord who is hiding his face from Jacob. I will put my trust in him.

Isaiah 8:11-14, 16-17

The only time you saw instructions given to a prophet made public was when it fulfilled a purpose in the ears of the people hearing it. Here we see the instructions given to Isaiah told to all. And the context was the time that Isaiah was telling the people that Assyria was going to come and rescue those who remained true to God; God's people. Why?

At this point you are probably asking, “Pastor this is not how you normally start. I am already getting lost already. What is this important to me?”

This morning God knew that I was concerned as to to what He is about to do. He knew that I was asking what do I do in the midst of this great deliverance and great retribution from Him. I was concerned as to how to stand in the midst of all the fear and the talk that characterized what was going on as a trap or conspiracy. He knew I was concerned as to whether what He said would be accomplished by doing what He said would really happen. I was concerned about having given my word based upon what He said His word was for me. Do you understand?

See when I believe God has said something that is to come I oftentimes am led to speak it to others. If you go to the beginning of this chapter you will see that Isaiah was told to write down what God was saying was about to happen and to have two trustworthy persons witness it. Similar events have happened in my life.

When I met Momma P in 1980 I told my roommate I just met the woman I am to marry. I wrote on my application for dormitory director in 1983 that in 3 years I intended to be married to her. The reality though was far from the prophetic word. In 1980 she would not date me. In 1984 she had moved away to Dallas and we spoke very little. We had never kissed, held hands, or looked into each others eyes filled with love. But in October of 1985 I proposed after a 7 day fast and prayer, with her later accepting per the instruction of the Lord saying: “I do not love you, but the Lord said to marry you so I am.” God then went about creating that love within each of us so that when we walked down the aisle on July 19, 1986 as husband and wife we truly loved each other – Six years after God spoke it to me, three years after it was prophetically written down on an application at Baylor University.

And so I stand in a similar place again. I know what I believe God has said He will do. I know what is required of me to do. Like in other times God has required me to speak it, to write it, to live it. And yet, I look around me and I hear the cries that I am being entrapped. I hear the fear that it will not do what He said it will do. I see no evidence of the change that is promised to occur in the hearts of those involved. Indeed I see where they think it is truly themselves that are orchestrating the events. In this environment, to this situation, to my heart, with His hand strongly upon me, He speaks this word.

Do not agree with those around me who only hear and see the trap. Do not fear them. Fear Him and Him alone. Make God the one that you run to. Make God the one that you hide yourself in. Make His Word your confidence. Trust in Him. Trust in the Holy One of Israel.

“Bind up the testimony and seal up the law among my disciples . . .”

Tell His people what is to come. Do not let go what God has said is in the midst of His people. Do not give in but proclaim it out loud among His disciples. Let God's people know it is to occur.

So you don't see God's hand acting right now on what He has said to you . . . Well don't be surprised do the act of waiting on Him.

“ I will wait for the Lord who is hiding his face from Jacob.”

And while you are waiting:

“I will put my trust in him.”

1980 – we met, and God spoke. 1983 – I proclaimed and bound up the testimony and the law. 1986 – we were married, God's word was made manifest in the reality on this earth. Last night I looked at the lack of evidence and cried. This morning I reminded myself of the Word given me. With this Word from the Lord, I renewed my strength in Him. Later I will rejoice.

These instructions to you and I were when lived out benefit not only you and I but all of God's people and others. You have a word from the Lord? Stand on it. Proclaim it to God's people. Trust in Him and Him alone. Renew your faith in the Lord. See it come to pass.

El Señor me habló fuertemente y me advirtió que no seguiera el camino de este pueblo. Me dijo:

No digan ustedes que es conspiración todo lo que llama conspiración; ni teman lo que ellos temen, y no ni se dejen asustar.
Soló al Señor Todopoderoso tendran ustedes por santo, soló a él deben honrarlo, soló él han de temerlo. El eSeñor será un santuario. . . .

Guarda bien el testimonio; sella la ley entre mis discípulos. El Señor ha escondido su rostro del pureblo de Jacob, pero yo esperaré en él, pues en él puesta mi esperanza.

Isaías 8:11-14, 16-17

La única vez que vio a las instrucciones dadas a un profeta hizo público fue cuando se cumplió un propósito en los oídos de las personas que oyen la misma. Aquí vemos las instrucciones dadas a Isaías le dijo a todos. Y el contexto era el tiempo que Isaías estaba diciendo a la gente que Asiria iba a venir y rescatar a aquellos que permanecieron fieles a Dios, el pueblo de Dios. ¿Por qué?

En este tiempo usted probablemente se estará preguntando: "Pastor no es así como lo hace normalmente inicia. Estoy consiguiendo ya perdido. ¿Qué importancia tiene esto para mí? "

Esta mañana, Dios sabía que yo estaba interesado en saber lo que Él está a punto de hacer. Él sabía que yo estaba preguntando qué hago en medio de esta gran liberación y gran retribución de él. Yo estaba preocupado sobre la manera de estar en medio de todo el miedo y la charla que caracteriza lo que estaba pasando como una trampa o conspiración. Él sabía que yo estaba interesado en saber si lo que dijo se logra haciendo lo que dijo realmente iba a suceder. Yo estaba preocupado por haber dado mi palabra en base a lo que dijo su palabra era para mí. ¿Lo entiendes?

Cuando yo creo que Dios ha dicho algo que está por venir muchas veces me veo llevado a hablar a los demás. Si usted va al principio de este capítulo veremos que Isaías le dijo que escribir lo que Dios estaba diciendo que iba a ocurrir y tener dos personas de confianza presenciarlo. Eventos similares han ocurrido en mi vida.

Cuando conocí a Momma P en 1980 le dije a mi compañero de cuarto que acabo de conocer a la mujer que soy casarse. Yo escribí en mi solicitud para el director dormitorio en 1983 que en 3 años tenía la intención de casarse con ella. La realidad, sin embargo estaba lejos de la palabra profética. En 1980, ella no me salí. En 1984 se había mudado a Dallas y hablamos muy poco. Nunca nos habíamos besado, cogidos de la mano, o miraba a los ojos llenos de amor. Pero en octubre de 1985 le propuse después de un ayuno de siete días y la oración, con su posterior aceptación por la instrucción del Señor que decía: "Yo no te quiero, pero el Señor le dijo a casarme contigo porque lo soy." Entonces Dios anduvo la creación de ese amor dentro de cada uno de nosotros para que cuando caminaba por el pasillo el 19 de julio de 1986 como marido y mujer que verdaderamente amaban - Seis años después de que Dios me habló, tres años después de ser escrito proféticamente hacia abajo en una aplicación en la Universidad de Baylor.

Y así me encuentro en un lugar similar otra vez. Yo sé lo que creo que Dios ha dicho que hará. Sé lo que se espera de mí. Al igual que en otras ocasiones Dios me ha requerido para hablar, para escribir, para vivir. Y, sin embargo, miro a mi alrededor y escucho los gritos que me están atrapados. Oigo el temor de que no va a hacer lo que Él dice que hará. No veo ninguna evidencia de que el cambio que se ha prometido que se produzca en los corazones de las personas involucradas. De hecho veo que ellos piensan que es verdad que se están orquestando los eventos. En este entorno, a esta situación, a mi corazón, con su mano fuertemente sobre mí, Él habla esta palabra.
No estoy de acuerdo con aquellos que me rodean que sólo oyen y ven la trampa. No les tengas miedo. Le temen, y Él solo. Haz de Dios el que se ejecuta a. Haz de Dios el que te escondes pulg Haga su Palabra su confianza. Confía en él. La confianza en el Santo de Israel.

"Guarda bien el testimonio; sella la ley entre mis discípulos . . . "

Dígale a su pueblo lo que está por venir. No me sueltes lo que Dios ha dicho que está en medio de su pueblo. No ceda sino proclamar en voz alta entre sus discípulos. Que el pueblo de Dios sabe lo que va a ocurrir.

Así que no veo la mano de Dios actuando en este momento en lo que Él ha dicho. . . Bueno, no te sorprendas hacer el acto de esperar en él.

"El Señor ha escondido su rostro del pureblo de Jacob, pero yo esperaré en él ."

Y mientras que usted está esperando:

"pues en él puesta mi esperanza ."

1980 - nos conocimos, y habló de Dios. 1983 - Yo proclamó y ligado al testimonio ya la ley. 1986 - nos casamos, la palabra de Dios se ha manifestado en la realidad en esta tierra. Anoche miré a la falta de pruebas y lloró. Esta mañana me acordé de la palabra que me dio. Con esta Palabra del Señor, renové mis fuerzas en él. Más tarde, yo me alegraré.


Estas instrucciones a usted y yo tenía cuando vivía fuera beneficiará no sólo usted y yo, sino todo el pueblo de Dios y otros. Hay una palabra del Señor? Párese sobre ella. Proclamar que el pueblo de Dios. Confía en Él y Él solamente. Renueva tu fe en el Señor. Vea lo sucedido.

Run on to see what the end will be . . .

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;

say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear;

your God will come with vengeance; with divine retribution

he will come to save you.”

Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.

Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy.

Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs.

In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.

Isaiah 35:3-7

From all that the Lord has been saying to me these days, it has been clear that a great transformation is occurring. In each of our lives there are times that God is about to do a great work. The thing is, He chooses to work through us, His people. He chooses to use us as his hands and feet. That would be okay if the work that he was going to do was within what I could accomplish on my own. I would gladly welcome His telling me HE was going to do a great work. But when this great work is going to require ME to act and do . . . well . . . that is a lot harder to welcome.

See I know some of my weaknesses. I also know that there are other weaknesses that I do not know of that may prevent my being able to do this great work. I am lazy in many ways. I prefer things to go my way. I do not care too much for much change and am in some ways a little scared of consistent growth. You know, the type of growth that one day you look in the mirror and do not recognize yourself because of how much you have changed. You know, the type of growth that requires that you leave some persons you thought were friends and make new ones from the very persons you would not have even spoken to a month ago. You know, the type of change that makes you give money away to strangers. You know, the type of change that has you taking a beating rather than being the one giving it out – you are not hitting the other cheek, you are turning yours to be hit. You know, the type of change that . . . well . . . you just don't know what you will look like and be afterwards. It is harder to follow God into this unknown new me.

I am scared.

To my fear He answers:

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;

say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear;

your God will come with vengeance; with divine retribution

he will come to save you.”

Have you ever noticed that God never calls His people to be weak? Have you noticed that even when He is telling us to rely upon Him, God is telling us to do so with no fear and in total strength. “Be strong and do not fear.” It is as if this God we serve knows more about what is within us than we do. It seems like he knows that in our agreeing and doing what He says we will find our strength, we will not be lazy but industrious. He knows that we will love the direction He is taking us. He knows that when we later look in the mirror the person we will see will look different and we will rejoice at the difference. He knows that those we left behind will pale in comparison to the true family He is giving to us; friends who truly love us as we are and who stick closer than the best of brothers. He knows that we will love His economy where what we give away is more than replaced by the blessing that He gives in return, by His provision, His abundance. He knows that when you take a beating instead of giving one, and when you turn the other cheek instead of hitting one you and I will come to understand the words of the missionary: “He is no fool who gives up what He can not keep, to gain what He can not loose.” God knows that the unknown you and I in Him is so much better than the known you and I without Him. God knows.

And so He commands us to be strong and do not fear. Why? Because He is coming. He is coming with vengeance and divine retribution to save us.

Now don't think about vengeance like He is coming to beat up on all your enemies. Here I would like for you to think of the speed and determination, the massive power and authority of a conquering army coming to accomplish the will of the King. An army coming to free His people who have been enslaved. An army coming to “let my people go!” God's army coming to save us!

The context of this writing is just that. God was telling His people that He was about to save and restore them from their captives the Babylonians. It is such a love that God has for His own, for us, that we see illustrated here. But recognize it is more than simply a freedom and salvation from captivity from others, it is freedom and captivity from themselves.

The phrase: “Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped . . .” is often used throughout the bible to communicate God's people coming into an understanding Him. It is used to mean that they finally see and understand what God is doing; what His kingdom agenda is in their life; what His plan is; what He has been saying to them. So His coming brings freedom and insight to us from our own misunderstandings, ignorance and stupidity of Him. And with that we can not do what we were originally designed to do. Our lame “leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy.”

We become all that we were designed to be! And our world, the environment in which we live . . .

What was wilderness now has life. Where there was dryness and desert we now have streams. What was a burning sand trap becomes a pool to drink from. Parched land needing water becomes a source of bubbling springs. Where our enemy hid, is now a place of beauty and provision. Our environment has changed.

I think I will take His word and do it. I think I will thank Him for choosing to work through me. I think I will do as the old Negro spiritual said: “run on, to see what the end will be . . .”

Corre para ver lo que al final va a ser. . .

Fortalezcan las manos débiles, afirmen las rodillas temblorosas;
digan a los de corazón temeroso: "Sean fuertes, no tengan miedo.
Vuestro Dios vendrá, vendrá con venganza, con retribución divina
vendrá a salvarlos. "

Se abrirán entonces los ojos de los ciegos y se destaparán los oídos de los sordos.
Saltará el cojo como un ciervo, y gritará de alegria la lengua del mudo.
Porque aguas brotarán en el desierto, y torrentes en la soledad.

Isaías 35:3-7

De todo lo que el Señor ha estado diciendo a mí en estos días, ha quedado claro que una gran transformación está ocurriendo. En cada una de nuestras vidas hay momentos en que Dios está a punto de hacer un gran trabajo. La cosa es que Él elige para trabajar a través de nosotros, su pueblo. Él escoge usarnos como sus manos y pies. Eso estaría bien si el trabajo que iba a hacer era dentro de lo que podría lograr por mí mismo. Con mucho gusto recibir al decirme que iba a hacer un gran trabajo. Pero cuando esta gran obra va a requerir que YO actuar y hacer. . . también. . . que es mucho más difícil dar la bienvenida.

Mira, yo sé que algunos de mis debilidades. También sé que hay otros puntos débiles que no sé de que puede evitar que yo sea capaz de hacer esta gran obra. Soy perezoso de muchas maneras. Yo prefiero las cosas a mi manera. No me importa mucho el cambio mucho y estoy en cierto modo un poco asustados de un crecimiento constante. Ya sabes, el tipo de crecimiento que un día te miras en el espejo y no te reconoces a causa de lo mucho que han cambiado. Ya sabes, el tipo de crecimiento que requiere que deje algunas personas que pensaba que eran mis amigos y hacer otros nuevos de las mismas personas que ni siquiera hubiera hablado hace un mes. Ya sabes, el tipo de cambio que te hace dar dinero a desconocidos. Ya sabes, el tipo de cambio que ha de recibir una paliza en lugar de ser el que da hacia fuera - usted no está golpeando la otra mejilla, le están dando vuelta el suyo para ser golpeado. Ya sabes, el tipo de cambio que. . . también. . . usted no sabe lo que se verá así y ser después. Es más difícil de seguir a Dios en este desconocido nuevo yo.

Estoy asustado.

Para mi miedo Él responde:

Fortalezcan las manos débiles, afirmen las rodillas temblorosas;
digan a los de corazón temeroso: "Sean fuertes, no tengan miedo.
Vuestro Dios vendrá, vendrá con venganza, con retribución divina
vendrá a salvarlos. "

¿Te has dado cuenta de que Dios no llama a su pueblo a ser débil? ¿Ha notado que, incluso cuando Él nos está diciendo a confiar en Él, Dios nos está diciendo que lo hagan sin miedo y en la fuerza total. "Sé fuerte y no tengas miedo." Es como si el Dios que servimos sabe más de lo que está dentro de nosotros que nosotros mismos. Parece como si supiera que en nuestro acuerdo y hacer lo que Él dice que vamos a encontrar nuestra fuerza, no vamos a ser perezoso pero laborioso. Él sabe que le encantará la dirección que Él nos está llevando. Él sabe que cuando más tarde mirarse en el espejo de la persona que veremos será diferente y nos regocijamos en la diferencia. Él sabe que los que dejamos atrás se palidecen en comparación con la verdadera familia le está dando a nosotros, amigos que verdaderamente nos aman como nosotros y que se quedan más cerca de lo mejor de hermanos. Él sabe que vamos a amar a su economía en la que lo que regalar es más que reemplazado por la bendición que Él da a cambio, por su disposición, su abundancia. Él sabe que cuando se toma una paliza en lugar de dar, y cuando la otra mejilla en vez de golpear una tú y yo llegaremos a entender las palabras del misionero: "Él no es tonto el que da lo que él no puede mantener , para ganar lo que no puede perder. "Dios sabe que lo desconocido tú y yo en Él es mucho mejor que el conocido tú y yo sin él. Dios lo sabe.

Y así, Él nos manda a ser fuerte y no temas. ¿Por qué? Porque Él está por venir. Él viene con venganza y retribución divina para salvarnos.

Ahora no pienso en la venganza como Él viene a golpear a todos tus enemigos. Aquí me gustaría que usted piense de la velocidad y la determinación, la enorme potencia y la autoridad de un ejército conquistador que viene a cumplir la voluntad del Rey. Un ejército que viene a liberar a su pueblo que ha sido esclavizado. Un ejército que viene a "dejar ir a mi pueblo!" Ejército de Dios que viene a salvarnos!

El contexto de este escrito es sólo eso. Dios le estaba diciendo a su pueblo que estaba a punto de salvar y restaurar desde sus cautivos los babilonios. Es un amor que Dios tiene por los suyos, para nosotros, que vemos ilustrado aquí. Pero reconozco que es algo más que una libertad y de la salvación del cautiverio de los demás, es la libertad y el cautiverio de sí mismos.

La frase: "Se abrirán entonces los ojos de los ciegos y se destaparán los oídos de los sordos.. . . "A menudo se utiliza en la Biblia para comunicar el pueblo de Dios entran en él un entendimiento. Se utiliza en el sentido de que por fin ver y entender lo que Dios está haciendo, cuál es su agenda reino está en su vida, cuál es su plan, lo que ha estado diciendo a ellos. Así que su venida trae libertad y conocimiento a nosotros de nuestros propios malentendidos, la ignorancia y la estupidez de él. Y con eso no podemos hacer lo que fueron diseñados originalmente para hacerlo. Nuestra cojo "saltará como un ciervo, y cantará la lengua del mudo."
Llegamos a ser todo lo que fuimos diseñados para ser! Y nuestro mundo, el entorno en el que vivimos. . .

¿Cuál era desierto ahora tiene vida. Cuando había sequía y el desierto que ahora tenemos arroyos. Lo que era una trampa de arena ardiente se convierte en una piscina para beber. Tierra reseca necesidad de agua se convierte en una fuente de aguas burbujeantes. Cuando nuestro enemigo encubierto, ahora es un lugar de belleza y disposición. Nuestro entorno ha cambiado.

Creo que voy a tomar su palabra y la hacen. Creo que voy a darle las gracias por haber elegido trabajar a través de mí. Creo que voy a hacer lo que el viejo espiritual negro dijo: "correr, para ver lo que al final va a ser. . . "

Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to your prayers . . .

“. . . if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

This morning all of the verses that the Lord was showing me dealt with dedication of the temple in Jerusalem. This particular passage comes after Solomon has done the dedication. It is what God tells him after all of the ceremony and sacrifices were completed. In fact, these words follow God telling them:

“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, . . .” (vs. 13).

Then, God tells them what they must do. His people . . . NOT other people . . . but God's people who call themselves by His name. He tells them that they must humble themselves and pray. That they must seek His face and turn from their wicked ways.

Humble themselves and pray. How do we humble ourselves. What exactly does that mean? In short it means partly for us to agree with God that He is right and we are not. It means that we agree to do things His way and not our own. It means that we trust Him over anything and anyone else, including ourselves. He tells them, He tells us, that we must humble ourselves AND pray.

Pray for what? Perhaps we should start with praying that his kingdom come on earth, here, as it is in heaven. In other words, we should be praying, asking and proclaiming that what God has ordered and ordained in heaven be made manifest here in our lives, in our families, in our communities, and in our nation. See if we are praying HIS kingdom here we are literally praying for heaven on earth. And if we are living in hell right now, that would be good news!

But God does not stop there, He further requires that we seek his face and turn from our wicked ways.

The Hebrew words which are used for “seek His face” normally refer to worship throughout the old testament. However here it has a slightly different meaning, partly due to the additional phrase to turn from our wicked ways. Here it means to come back to God as a prodigal son would to his father. In the context of the writing the father had all control over his children. In those days he could beat them, make them work like slaves, and even kill them. To return to a father as a prodigal son was to return casting yourself fully upon the father's mercy and grace. It was this type of complete reliance and trust in the Heavenly father that God was requiring of His people, of us. He was and does require that we return to Him and throw our very lives before Him agreeing that He may kill or let live; raise us up and restore us, or cast us down and push us away from His presence.

But God does not leave His people wondering what He will do:

“ . . .then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Hear from heaven . . . forgive our sins, our wrongs . . . and heal our land, . . . heal us.

Oftentimes I have read this verse and not seen what I saw today. If you need an answer for how to find healing in your life, here it is. If you need an answer on how to find release from an obsession which seems to hold you here it is. Humble yourself, pray, seek His face and turn from your wicked ways.

God promises that He will hear, He will forgive and He will heal. And if you are wondering if He will really hear you when you come to stand before Him in this manner, in this way. Read the next verse.

“Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” (vs 15)

In THIS place of humbleness, pray, seeking and returning, and turning from our sins He will be found looking and listening. If you need healing . . . get to THIS place.

Ahora mis ojos estarán abiertos y mis oídos atentos a la oración . . .

". . . si mi gente, que lleva mi nombre, se humillan y oran, buscan mi rostro y se convirtieren de sus malos caminos, entonces yo oiré desde los cielos, y perdonaré sus pecados, y sanaré su tierra. "2 Crónicas 7 : 14

Esta mañana todos los versículos que el Señor me estaba mostrando tratado dedicación del templo en Jerusalén. Este pasaje viene después de Salomón ha hecho la dedicación. Es lo que Dios le dice al cabo de la ceremonia y los sacrificios fueron completados. De hecho, estas palabras siguen a Dios diciéndoles:

"Cuando yo cierre los cielos para que no haya lluvia, o langostas de comandos que consuma la tierra, o enviar una plaga en mi pueblo. . . "(Vs. 13).

Entonces, Dios les dice lo que deben hacer. Su pueblo. . . NO a otras personas. . . pero el pueblo de Dios que se llaman por su nombre. Él les dice que deben humilla y ora. Que se debe buscar su rostro y se convirtieren de sus malos caminos.

Humilla y ora. ¿Cómo nos humillamos. ¿Qué significa eso exactamente? En síntesis, esto significa en parte por nosotros de acuerdo con Dios de que Él es justo y no lo somos. Esto significa que estamos de acuerdo en hacer las cosas a su manera y no la nuestra. Esto significa que confiamos en él sobre cualquier cosa y nadie, incluidos nosotros mismos. Él les dice, Él nos dice que debemos humillarnos y orar.

Oren por qué? Tal vez deberíamos comenzar con la oración que venga su reino en la tierra, aquí, como en el cielo. En otras palabras, debemos estar orando, pidiendo y proclamando que lo que Dios ha ordenado y ordenado en los cielos se manifieste aquí en nuestras vidas, en nuestras familias, en nuestras comunidades y en nuestra nación. A ver si estamos orando Su reino aquí estamos, literalmente, orando por el cielo en la tierra. Y si estamos viviendo en el infierno ahora mismo, eso sería una buena noticia!

Pero Dios no se detiene allí, Él también requiere que busquemos su rostro y se convirtieren de nuestros malos caminos.

Las palabras hebreas que se utilizan para "buscar su rostro" normalmente se refiere a la adoración en el Antiguo Testamento. Sin embargo aquí tiene un significado ligeramente diferente, en parte debido a la frase adicional para convertirnos de nuestras maldades. Aquí significa volver a Dios como un hijo pródigo haría con su padre. En el contexto de la escritura el padre tenía todo el control sobre sus hijos. En aquellos días podía vencerlos, hacerlos trabajar como esclavos, e incluso matarlos. Para volver a un padre como el hijo pródigo era regresar lanzar a ti mismo completamente a la misericordia del padre y de la gracia. Fue este tipo de dependencia y confianza en el Padre celestial que Dios requiere de su pueblo, de nosotros. Pero Dios no abandona a su pueblo preguntando lo que hará:

 ". . . Entonces yo oiré desde los cielos, y perdonaré sus pecados, y sanaré su tierra. "

Oiré desde los cielos. . . perdona nuestros pecados, nuestras faltas. . . y sanar nuestra tierra. . . sanarnos.

Muchas veces he leído este versículo y no visto lo que he visto hoy. Si necesita una respuesta para saber cómo encontrar la curación en su vida, aquí está. Si necesita una respuesta sobre la forma de encontrar la liberación de una obsesión que parece tenerte aquí está. Humíllate, orar, buscar su rostro y se convirtieren de sus malos caminos.

Dios promete que Él escuchará, Él perdonará y sanará. Y si usted se está preguntando si realmente te escuchará cuando se llega a estar delante de Él de esta manera, de esta manera. Lea el versículo siguiente.

"Ahora mis ojos estarán abiertos y mis oídos atentos a la oración que se haga en este lugar." (Vs. 15)

You can have a country in a day . . .

Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this?  Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment?  Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.  Isaiah 66:8
This morning I very carefully opened up my bible.  I have been feeling rather distant from God.  A little numb.  I have known that He has said things have changed and yet I see little evidence of it.  I am both excited and scared.  When I get in that state I often withdraw.  Why? Because what I do see that He is sayng is about to happen pushes me way beyond my limits.  He is saying to me to take a plunge into the deep water.  And yet, I am afraid that I may drown.
And yet, I know that I cannot stand on the shore and look.  I know that I must jump in. 
See God’s word says that the just, . . . His children . . . live by faith.  Faith – believing in what we do not see as if it already is.  Believing in what He says is when what we see is not.  It is believing in the impossible reality which is the true reality -- a reality which only God controls and which only God can cause to come into existence. It is only in THIS reality that we can live as Christians – the reality of the world of Faith in what HE says is.
You may be too young to remember Kathryn Kuhlman a great tele-evangelist, spiritualist and healer of the early 70’s, but her words ring in my head.  She used to begin her show saying:  “I believe in miracles. Because I believe in God.”  She understood the reality of God, a reality which transcended what we could see, hear, touch, or smell.  She had faith in God.  She lived in that reality of faith. 
And if we are to know Christ, we must live in that reality of faith also.  We must be willing to jump into the deep when He says to and to trust that what He says is. 
A country  borne in a day?  A nation created in a moment? Birth pains come and immediately a baby is borne?
Can our circumstances change for the best in a day?  Can what was not existent the minute before be fully developed the very next minute?  Can while we are yet beginning to feel the pain of hunger a banquet be prepared and set before us?
Our first Thanksgiving in Waco, Texas before I started law school we were down to one egg and two slices of bread.  However, we had a full tank of gas.  So we came up with a plan.  We would fry the egg, and put it between the two slices of bread, pray over it and serve it.  Thank God for the food.  Then we were going to jump into our car and drive to Dallas to Momma P’s aunt and see if we could eat with them.  However, as we finished eating and were about to go out the back door the front doorbell was ringing.  On the other side stood a tall dark man who asked me if I was Rev. Peterson.  I answered yes, to which he asked me what was taking so long.  “Mama says we cannot eat a thing until you and your wife come over.”  “Who’s your moma I asked?” 
Next door our new neighbor, an elderly lady we had just met that week had prepared a feast.  She had seats reserved for us at the head of the table, and was waiting for our arrival.  We had no idea we were invited!  We left her home that night full and with enough food to last a week!
Yes  a country can be borne in a day and a nation can be created in a moment!  Yes as soon as the pains of birth start to come upon you the baby can be borne.  God has a plan for you that is just waiting to burst forth on the scene!  And yes, . . . it will come suddenly!
Have faith in God’s word to you. It can happen in an instant.

Peace in the middle of the storm . . .

24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Daniel 3:24-25
All I want to write tonight is a simple truth: When you do what God says to do and you have to pay a price you will not be alone. God will be there with you, right in the fire with you.
That is all I truly have to say.
Go and read all of Daniel 3. There you find the story of three young men, in the service of THE King, who were under great pressure to serve the king's gods. How much pressure? Well go all the way back to the beginning of the book of Daniel. These three men were the brightest and finest of the Hebrew children who had been captured by Nebuchadnezzar:
“3 And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; 4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favored, and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. 5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:7 Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.
Did you catch it? They were taken from their families and homes. Their names were changed. They were given names which had meanings which supported the Chaldeans the people who captured them. Their education was changed so that they learned the language of the Chaldeans. Their food was changed as well as their clothing (do you think they were allowed to continue wearing the clothing of their homeland when they would stand before the king?). In short . . they were given a whole new identity.
Well almost . . . they still had not started to worship the gods of the Chaldeans. At least, not until now. Now they were supposed to bow and worship the gods of the Chaldeans instead of the one and true God. Perhaps we can learn something about how we loose our identity in Christ.
First we are taken from our Christian family . . . and by that I do not mean your immediate family. I define family as being all those who are in Christ. That is my true family, all those who do his will. That is how Jesus defined HIS family (Matthew 12:46-50). Then our names are changed. In our culture we are given nicknames, shortened versions of our own names. Or even worse we are called things that no child is . .. . stupid, an idiot, a fool, worthless . . .. Our clothing is changed, we do what the fashion leaders dictate. We let the world around us define how we dress. We learn how to speak to fit in. We curse because others do. We call God's name like we would a dog's. And finally we feed on what is given to us to eat . . . remember the Chaldeans gave them meat, and wine . . . remember they were taught the education of the Chaldeans, their beliefs and understandings.
So what's next for us . . . but to now serve the world's gods.
I was trapped for 3 hours in a traffic jam when people crowded the streets to get to the super bowl Ravens football victory celebration. So many people there they had to turn people away. I have yet to attend a church where people were regularly turned away because there was no more room inside.
What gods are we serving. Whatever gods they are it is a whole lot easier when we have been transformed to what the world looks like, sounds, and lives. It is a whole lot harder to then resist and worship the one and only God. It is a whole lot more difficult to say that Christ is the way to the Father. It is a whole lot more difficult to say Christ is God. It is a whole lot more difficult to say I will only be obedient to Him and Him alone. It is a whole lot more difficult to DO His will and to live it out where we live.
Yes the Hebrew boys, like us, were under a tremendous amount of pressure. But they stood firm. They withstood the pressure. And how? They chose to rely on the word of God. They chose give Him their lives . . . literally. They put His reputation, His truth on the line.
Son and daughters, brothers and sisters know this: God LOVES to be God! God LOVES to be King of Kings and Lord of Lords! He LOVES to show up and be with you right in the middle of the fire. As my favorite artist, Rabito sings “Paz en la media de la tormenta” . . . Peace in the middle of the storm.
Was it you that is thrown into the fire? You alone will not be in the middle of the fire. God will be with you when it is His word that you are standing in obedience to! You are not in the fire alone! The son of God is there with you. And when God is there . . . well, what can fire do to you but only burn up the rope which you are bound by.
My responsibility and yours is to rely upon God's word and do what He says and only what he says. Stand up and do not agree to do what is not God's word. Don't bow to the pressure. Get closer to God and watch Him stand with you in the fire.

Paz en la media de la tormenta . . .

Todo lo que quiero escribir esta noche es una verdad simple: Cuando lo que Dios dice que hacer y hay que pagar un precio que no estará solo. Dios estará con ustedes, justo en el fuego con usted.

¿Lo atraparon? Ellos fueron separados de sus familias y hogares. Sus nombres fueron cambiados. Se les dio nombres que tenían significados que apoyaron los Caldeos las personas que los capturados. Si los chicos hebreo, como nosotros, estaban bajo una enorme presión. Pero se mantuvo firme. Ellos soportaron la presión. ¿Y cómo? Eligieron a confiar en la palabra de Dios. Eligieron dadle sus vidas. . . literalmente. Ellos pusieron su reputación, su verdad en la línea, en la palabra de Dios.

Hijo y hijas, hermanos y hermanas, sepan esto: Dios ama ser Dios! A Dios le encanta ser el Rey de Reyes y Señor de Señores! Le encanta aparecer y estar con ustedes en medio del fuego. Como mi artista favorito, Rabito canta "Paz en la prensa de La Tormenta". . . La paz en medio de la tormenta.
¿Fue usted que se echa en el fuego? Usted solo no estará en el medio del fuego. Dios estará con usted cuando es Su palabra que está de pie en la obediencia a! Usted no está en el fuego solo! El hijo de Dios está allí con ustedes. Y cuando Dios está allí. . . bien, ¿qué puede hacer fuego para ti, pero sólo quemará la cuerda que está obligado por.

Mi responsabilidad es suya y de confiar en la palabra de Dios y hacer lo que Él dice ,y sólo lo que él dice. Ponte de pie y no de acuerdo en hacer lo que no es palabra de Dios. No ceder ante la presión. Acércate a Dios y verlo junto a ustedes en el fuego.

I will not offer to the Lord that which costs me nothing . . .

23 Ornan said to David, “Take it for yourself; and let my lord the king do what is good in his sight. See, I will give the oxen for burnt offerings and the threshing sledges for wood and the wheat for the grain offering; I will give it all.” 24 But King David said to Ornan, “No, but I will surely buy it for the full price; for I will not take what is yours for the Lord, or offer a burnt offering which cost me nothing.” 2 Chronicles 21:23-24

I will not offer up to the Lord that which costs me nothing. There is an awesome song written by Nolan Williams which is based upon these words. These are words which have been ringing in my head these last couple of days. As you know I have missed writing a couple of days and have been considering changing to writing only three times a week so that I may have more time to live, to do the work I have to do, to study and to accomplish all that I have to do each day.

I mentioned my possible plans to Momma P last night. She quickly advised me not to stop or cut back. Instead she encouraged me to continue and to be even more consistent in my writing. And then these words came back to my mind.

“I will not offer a burnt offering which cost me nothing.”

If you read the words written in the first part of the chapter you will see that David had done wrong, and the angel of the Lord was preparing to destroy Jerusalem. David saw the angel standing between heaven and the earth. God instructed the angel to tell David to go and make an offering to God on the threshing floor Ornan. But there was a little problem. David did not own the threshing floor. He had to get it to give it away. Although Ornan was willing to give it away, David insisted on paying for it. It would be no sacrifice to the Lord from him, David, if he did not.

I have not walked right before the Lord myself. I have made decisions which have cost my family dearly. I have stopped from doing things that I knew God would have me do. I have not done right when I should have. Can you relate? Do you understand? Do you, like me see yourself in David?

And then God calls you to give out of your own need. He calls you to offer up a sacrifice. It was not about giving money to Ornan. It was about giving back to God. When it would all be done David would have nothing. The threshing floor would be the Lord's. The offering would have gone up in smoke and David would have walked away.

But I am wrong. David would have something.

“Then David built an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. He called on the LORD, and the LORD answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering. Then the LORD spoke to the angel, and he put his sword back into its sheath.” 2 Chronicles 21:26-27

The sacrifice that the Lord calls you to give is just as much a blessing to God as it is a blessing to the other person and to you. You receive the blessing from obedience in your life. He commands the angel to put his sword back into its sheath.

Do you know of something God has been calling you to do and you have been delaying? Stop delaying and do it. You know it is going to cost you something. Well, it is supposed to cost you something. You know it is going to cost you dearly. Well, yes it will.

It will also bless you greatly.

Don't look for the out, before people or God. Be willing to loose it all for Him. He rewards those who do. He rewards those who trust in Him. There is a lot of forgiveness tied up in that sacrifice . . . forgiveness for you. Get to it.

Forgive me for missing these last days. I am not stopping. I will not offer to the Lord that which costs me nothing.

David no era dueño de la era. Tenía que ir a dar a la basura. Aunque Ornán estaba dispuesto a regalarlo, David insistió en pagar por ello. No sería un sacrificio al Señor de él, David, si no lo hizo.

No he caminado justo antes de que el mismo Señor. He tomado decisiones que han costado muy caro a mi familia. He dejado de hacer cosas que yo sabía que Dios quería que hiciera. No me he hecho a la derecha cuando debería haberlo hecho. ¿Puede relacionarse? ¿Lo entiendes? ¿Usted, como yo te ves en David?

Y entonces Dios te llama a dar de su propia necesidad. Él te llama para ofrecer un sacrificio. No se trataba de dar dinero a Ornán. Se trata de dar vuelta a Dios. Cuando todo se haría David no tendría nada. El piso de trilla sería la del Señor. La oferta se habría esfumado y David habría alejó.

Pero yo estoy equivocado. David tendría algo.

"Entonces David edificó un altar al Señor allí y ofreció holocaustos y ofrendas de paz. Pidió al Señor, y el Señor le respondió con fuego del cielo sobre el altar del holocausto. Entonces el Señor le habló al ángel, y éste volvió su espada a la vaina. "2 Crónicas 21:26-27

El sacrificio que el Señor te llama a dar es tanto una bendición a Dios, ya que es una bendición para la persona y para usted. Recibe la bendición de la obediencia en su vida. Él ordena que el ángel volvió su espada a la vaina.

¿Sabe usted de algo que Dios ha estado llamando a hacer y que ha sido el retraso? Deje de retrasar y hacerlo. Sabes que te va a costar algo. Bueno, se supone que le costará algo. Sabes que te va a costar muy caro. Bueno, sí que lo hará.

También le bendiga grandemente.

No busques la salida, en frente de las personas o de Dios. Esté dispuesto a perder todo por él. Él recompensa a los que lo hacen. Él recompensa a aquellos que confían en él. Hay un montón de perdón atado en ese sacrificio. . . perdón para ti. Manos a la obra.

Perdóname por falta estos últimos días. Yo no puedo frenar. No voy a ofrecer al Señor lo que me cuesta nada.
