So you found some dry bones . . .

After looking at the fat (see previous post), I wondered what do I do with the “dry bones” in my life.  By “dry bones” I means the areas in my life where I do not see what should be or is needed.
The message today is pretty simple.
1.     Ask the Lord what is to be in those areas, indeed let him identify the areas of dry bones.  Some areas will be obvious and others, well ask and open the word.
2.    Read and listen as to what is God’s desire for this area.  This may require some work on your part.  You need to read and examine what the word says about it.  Take notice, or if you have a memory like mine, write down what God says about the matter.
3.    Acknowledge that God alone has the power to bring life to any area of your life, His life.
4.    Do what He says to do. Start speaking to it.
5.    Don’t stop doing what God said, speaking His word to the dry bones until He has made them living bones.
Okay, if you are wondering where I got these just read the passage.
1.     He was shown a valley of dry bones.  He examined the extent of the valley – how dry were the bones.
2.    The Lord asked him if they could live.  In this Ezekiel understood that it was God’s desire that the bones live.  God’s desire for the areas of dryness in our lives is most important.  Grab hold of it.
3.    Ezekiel acknowledged that only God knew whether the bones could live or not; i.e. Ezekiel was saying you alone have the power. What God desires in each of those dry areas of our lives is impossible to do outside of HIS direct direction and intervention.
4.    God gave specific instructions to Ezekiel, instructions which required of him to do something which must of seemed really crazy to anyone watching . . . prophesy to dry bones!  Now that would be a hard assignment for anyone.  Notice I did not say preach . . . No he was told to tell the dry bones they would live!
5.    Ezekiel did not stop until it was done.  It is not until God added the flesh, sinew, muscle and breath that he stopped prophesying to them.  Point:  It may be a while of speaking to the “dry bones” in your life before you see life!  Don’t stop doing, speaking, prophesying God’s word to them until it is completed!
Look at the rest of the story:
One other thing to note.   This process in your life may be rather “noisy.”  Others may notice.  It may seem a little unorganized for a while.  It may look a little off.  But don’t stop.  Keep following His instructions (which you should note is specific for what is needed).
A number of years ago Momma P and I were down to our last dollar.  We had no food in the cupboard or refrigerator and no money in any accounts, wallets and purses.  We read this passage and followed the steps outlined above.  With the knowledge that God wanted us to live and not die; to eat and not fast, to pay our bills and not ignore them, we went into our kitchen, opened the cupboard doors and put our wallets and purses on the table and began prophesizing the word of God to them.
I am sure that if anyone had entered our home that day and heard us they would have thought that we were stone out of our minds.  But all we knew to do was what God said to do.
The next day our new neighbor, a very elderly lady (hard of hearing) Ms Victoria came over with a calendar wishing us a happy anniversary.  It was not our anniversary.  The calendar was for a year long past.  But in it was a 5 dollar bill.  With this the bones started to rattle!!
Praise the Lord we did not miss a meal, rent, bills, etc.  God came through in our valley of dry bones!
What is yours?  You now have a word to apply.
Got Word?
Love yah,
